Cricut

I've come to the conclusion that I'm done doing craft shows. They just take up too much of my time and I don't reap enough of a profit to put my family through that. So I've been going through all my hairbow making supplies and I decided to sell it all. I didn't realize the hundreds upon hundreds of yards of ribbon that were in my stash. SHEESH! So I sold them all to fellow bowmakers. :) Made a nice little chunk of change and I'm going to buy this......

What is this shiny piece of beauty you may ask? It is called a cricut expression and it's basically a die cut machine. My main use for it is to cut vinyl to put on cars and on walls. It will also be used to cut mats for pictures and to cut vinyl to embellish the mats. And you can cut die cuts for scrapbooking. Oh my goodness! Good times are going to be had with this bad boy. Jojo and I have been drooling over it for months on end. I think our sewing nights have just become scrappin nights. :D

Second degree burn

That's what I've got on my back. I took the kiddos to Splash with Melissa last friday. She had some free passes and was wonderful enough to share them with us. We weren't there for more than an hour and a half or so. I don't know how I could have missed my whole entire back but I did. And now I'm paying for it. Rob says there are about 12 blisters back there. I'll take his word for it. All I know is that it hurts like heck! I can't wear anything but my swim suit top. That looks real cute under my work shirt. (rolls eyes) Hopefully it will clear up in a few days. Send some healing thoughts my way please!

First day of school

Jaz went to her first day of 4th grade this morning. She was so excited that I didn't even get a chance to take a pic. I'll have to get one when she gets home. She was so worried that she was going to get one certain teacher. She didn't care for this teacher at all. Come to find out, that teacher quit and she now has a new teacher. I think she's going to have a great time with him. He even broke out in a song and dance in the middle of the hallway to get Jacey to smile when we went to go meet him on friday. And her homeroom teacher isn't pregnant so hopefully there won't be any long term substitutes like she's had for the last 2 years. I think this is going to be a great year!

Picasso strikes again

You'd automatically assume it was the baby wouldn't you. Nope, not this time. Not even the three year old............It was the one that is starting the 4th grade on monday. It wasn't on the floor or even the walls........it was on the back seat of the van!!!! @#$@#$@#$@ IN MARKER!!!! Words do not begin to describe what I was feeling when I finally saw it while unloading groceries today. Her reasoning.....she couldn't find a piece of paper! @$%@#$!@#%# I better lookout when she can't find a bathroom nearby.

Enough already!

I don't know what is going on lately. The only thing I can do is chalk it up to the fact that we're moving forward in the right direction. We're getting all sorts of roadblocks and things put up in our way. All signs that the devil doesn't like what we're doing. We're moving forward and getting our new company ready to launch. In the last 3 weeks we've had.... the a/c unit go out in the house so we had to replace a broken part. We had to get a window a/c unit so we could all at least sleep in one cool room for the night. I sliced my finger in 15 spots removing the a/c unit from the window. (no joke!) I was seeing stars from all the blood and had to call rob at work to tell him I was on the verge of passing out. My poor Giz had to go the vet hospital. You don't want to know what that bill was! I still can't get him to eat right. 2 days ago Sammy (our other shih tzu) starts to get sick. ARGH!!! I'm really starting to wonder if we got a bad batch of food. Sammy is a scrounger though and is always looking for scraps that the girls happen to throw on the floor. He was sick just that one time and has been fine ever since. But you better believe I'm keeping a close eye on him!!! And then last night as we were out shooting the sunset at Cadillac Ranch the battery in the van went out. Luckily there were some other people there to give us a jump so we could make it home. It's a pretty freaky feeling when it's 9:30 at night and you have your kids in the car, you're 10 miles away from home and the car won't start. So after a trip to Walmart at 11pm last night to get a new battery we're all better now. Honestly what else is going to happen???? I've had enough already!!!!

Update

We got to bring Gizmo home tonight! I was so excited. Thank you all for the prayers. :) He seemed to be responding to the treatment very well. I went out there last night as they fed him and he gobbled it right up. They gave us a special prescription food tonight and .... he won't touch it. Sigh.... of course not! I'm going to mix it up with his regular food and see if he'll eat it. I sure hope so. He's on a liver medicine that he'll have to be on for the rest of his life. One pill once a day. And antibiotics for a week. We have to take him back out in 4 weeks and redo all the blood tests. Sooner if he starts to lose weight again. So here's hoping my little man is on the mend.

Prayers needed

Today I had to take our little Shih Tzu Gizmo to the vet. He's been losing weight for about the last two weeks and nothing I can do will make him eat. He's always been on a bil jac diet since we've had him. Within this last week I've resorted to wet dog food as well as cottage cheese to help him out. Nothing seemed to work. He was so skinny. Down to 8 lbs!!! So we went to the vet. After some blood work and a few hours of anxiously waiting we find out that he has liver failure. My poor lil Giz who never gets sick now has this. So we admitted him to the vet hospital for the next few days and he's got an iv and some liver medicine and we're playing the wait and see what happens game. He's still feisty and wants to play. He has been his old self this whole time. The only thing that was different was his weight and his unwillingness to eat. Doc says the next 24-48 hours will be crucial in finding out how his body is going to react to the medicine. If all is well and he tolerates it then we'll have to put him on a liver medicine for the rest of his days. If not....well, I don't want to think about what will happen if he doesn't respond positively to the treatment. Please, if you've got any extra prayers, please send em our way. Mo-mo could really use em.

It's that time again

Where has the summer gone? Didn't the kids just get out of school???? Sigh.... Tomorrow I have to take Jaz to school and register her for the 4th grade. She's all excited. Jacey is still too little for pre k. Next year she'll get to go. Darn late birthdays! But that's ok. At least she'll be one of the oldest in the class. 95% of the school supplies have been bought. We've weeded out her closet and I've bought her a few new clothes. Gotta love my work discount on clearance clothes! :) The only things I think we need are some Kleenex's, ziploc baggies, hand sanitizer and maybe some new tennis shoes.
