Interesting disney christmas facts...

You think decorating your house for the holidays is a lot of work? Well, the next time you’re quashing that Christmas spirit with your complaints, picture what Walt Disney World creates for the season:

* 737 decorated trees throughout property

* A wreath 25 feet in diameter adorning the Cirque du Soleil building at Downtown Disney West Side

* 10 miles of twinkling rope lights in the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (98 percent of the lighting used for holiday décor is LED)

* 150 tractor-trailer truckloads of decorations for 24 resorts, four theme parks, Downtown Disney and other locations

* 15 miles of garland strung and 1,314 wreaths hung throughout the resort

* 300,000 yards of ribbon and bows draping over Christmas trees across property

* 8.5 million lights strung throughout Walt Disney World Resort

* 11 countries dressed for Holidays Around the World at Epcot World Showcase

* A Christmas tree in Magic Kingdom with a base 26 feet wide

* One 70-foot-tall tree in Disney’s Contemporary Resort entrance lobby featuring nearly 35,800 white LED lights

* Six life-sized creations cooked up by Walt Disney World pastry chefs, including a 16-foot-tall gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa baked with 1,050 pounds of honey and a gingerbread carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort featuring ponies made of chocolate and fondant with giant candy cane poles

Space Shuttle landing

The space shuttle landed in Amarillo today to refuel. Our friend called us and we were having a sleepy (read lazy) morning still trying to catch 40 more winks. We were up and dressed and out the door within 10 minutes. That in itself is a feat for a family of 5!! We rushed to the airport and in about 20 minutes the shuttle made it's first appearance. It was awesome. I'm adding a link to my flickr photo account. I've just got too many pictures to add here. Here's the link My Photos of the Space Shuttle ENJOY!!!

ETA- Rob and Jaz were on the news! Rob talking about the space shuttle and Jaz taking pics. I wish I had a video to share. It was so neat!

Tri State Fair

All of our entries are in for the fair!!! Phew!! I didn't think we'd get them all done. We had 16 entries. (shock!) Rob had a recycled picture frame, a hard drive clock, and a nail cross. I had a toilet paper scrap book, a mickey mouse clock, a tile coaster, an ariel tie dye, and a recycled vida dress. Jaz had a recycled soda frame, a watercolor picture, a purse, a tote bag, an apron, and a christmas wreath. Jacey had a thanksgiving wreath and an easter egg. Pickle didn't enter anything this year. Maybe next year. :) I'll post pics in a little bit. Now to wait until saturday to go back and see if we've won anything.

I only like Hippopotamuseses

A message board that I frequent is doing a christmas countdown for the december vacations. Here is the countdown for today. I just LOVE this song. :) Yes, I'm weird....deal with it. :)

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door, that's the easy thing to do
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too
Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian
There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when
I open up my eyes to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

Here's the youtube video for you to see the lights and hear the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue2Cvr8p-3k

Tie Dye

The girls and I have started on some tie dye shirts for our trip. These are the first ones that we tried. This one is Phoenix's. You can't tell from the pic but it's yellow and lime green swirl.
Tinkerbell!!!!

This is Jaz's Tinkerbell shirt done using a resist. She loves it!

This is a swirl shirt for me. There is a mickey head in the lower left corner. I may have to take a bleach marker to it and define it a little more.

Last but not least is Eeyore. This is done doing the resist as well. I love this one!!! Next on the plate are a mickey resist for daddy and an Ariel resist for Jacey. I'll post them as soon as I get them done. :)

2 Wheeler

Jacey can now ride a 2 wheeler without her training wheels! It took her one night of practicing and she's got it. She can even stand up and pedal. She keeps asking to use Jaz's gate so she can go to the track and race. LOL. I dunno if she's ready for that yet but we'll see I guess. :)

Locks of Love

Jaz and Jacey decided to get new sassy haircuts for school. Their hair is very long so they decided to donate their hair to locks of love. Way to go girls!!!
I don't know why Blogger likes to load pictures backwards. Anyway, here are the pics....in reverse order.....sorry! Phoenix didn't get her hair cut but had to get in for a photo. We're hoping to wait to get her hair cut until we are on Main Street USA!
Jacey with her cute new bob.
Isn't she cute???

We were supposed to race last night but we couldn't since the track was too wet. So we went on an impromptu photo shoot instead. :) Enjoy!

Registered

The girls are registered for school. Jazmin's last year at her elementary school and Jacey's first. It should be interesting. :) Jacey is in pre K this year since she misses the sept cutoff. It's only half a day so it will ease her into it for next year. She's all excited. She got upset when we couldn't stay at the school longer today. Two more weeks!

Duplicity

Can I duplicate myself? I have so much to do this weekend. Having another one of me would be wonderful! We've got a rehersal party tonight. A bachelor party tonight. A bachelorette party tonight. A company picnic tomorrow that we're taking pics of. Wonderland tomorrow night that we're also doing pics at. The wedding of wonderful friends on sunday that we're taking pics of. Photos from last weekend that need to be edited. A house that needs to be cleaned. A website that needs to be redesigned. And did I mention school starts in just a few short weeks? We still need new jeans, new shoes, haircuts, registration......the list goes on and on. I'm going back to bed to take a nap.

Crochet

Jaz and I are teaching ourselves to crochet. It's been interesting so far. LOL We bought a kit at Hobby Lobby yesterday and we've been making chains ever since. :) We found a great lady on youtube that gives wonderful instructions! She has over 500 videos. The best part is that they're all free. She's very thorough and explains what she's doing. She goes in slow motion so that you are certain of what you are doing. If anyone is interested here is her link with all her videos.

days....

31 days until school starts. Where did summer vacation go? We've got so much to do and not enough time to do it in! What am I going to do with myself with only one child at home?

151 days until christmas vacation. Or in other words 4 months, 4 weeks and 1 day. (Not that I'm counting or anything!) How that acutally ends up being 4 months instead of 5 months I dunno. But it sounds better to only have to wait 4 more months instead of 5. :)

8 more days until I launch a new Etsy shop. :) Hopefully I'll be able to have it open by Aug. 1st. I've only been getting 6-8 hours a week at work for the last 4 weeks. I've got to do something! So be on the lookout for photo t's, custom wall quotes, signs, and vinyl for your car. Who knows, I may just throw in something new and exciting every now and then. :)

I'm not April

To the people continuing to call my cell phone for April so-and-so, get it through your thick skull that I'm not April, I don't know an April, I'm not pretending to be an April, my third cousin once removed isn't April, the lady across the street isn't April and No, I'm not April! Got it? Now quit calling me every flippin hour and using up my minutes to find your long lost April who hasn't paid her bills. UGH~!!!!!!!!

Todays the day

Todays the day we clean out the old playroom and transform it into a sewing room. The kiddos have decided that they would like to stay together in one room rather than be apart in two different rooms. Fine by me! I'm sure Jaz will change her mind in a few years when she officially gets into the teenage years, but for now, I won't argue with her. :) So we're taking down all the baby stuff....crib, high chair, bouncy and the like and will be giving them to a good friend. So that means I have a whole room devoted to sewing and crafting. I can finally get it all off the kitchen table. Wait! We have a kitchen table?!?!? LOL Yes we do! Just haven't been able to see it lately. It's under all my stuff! So when the transformation is complete I'll post pics for you all to enjoy. Bye for now.

Accident prone

I think my 3rd child is accident prone and likes to scare mommy with blood. First we had the incident at the track where she ran into the tailgate of a truck. Blood all over her head. Today I hear screams coming from the bedroom and find more blood. This time coming out of her mouth. She tripped over her toys and bit her lip......quite badly in mommas eyes. There is a gouge about the length of two teeth and the width of one tooth. Her little lip is swollen. Looks like she got into a fight. Into the tub she went. She enjoyed an endless supply of popcicles. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Santa Hat

This post is for mom. This is the hat I want to make for the girls for christmas. Even Jaz thought it was cool. Whatcha think? Dunno about the big flower but I like the fluff around the edges that makes it seem like a santa hat. It comes from youcanmakethis.com You can click this link and it will take you to the page.

I just don't know if I'll have the patience to try to figure it out. LOL. Whatcha think?

Update

Hey all! It's been awhile. I've been told by numerous parties that I need to blog more. Sorry bout that. Life if just crazy busy at times. Lets see, what has happened in the last few months

I had a birthday, yup, I'm another year older.

We went home to ND for Brad & Carissas wedding. We had a great time and it was way, way to short!

The kids now know that we are going to DisneyWorld for Christmas. They're beyond excited!

We got awesome airfare for said trip. $59 each way outta Dallas. That's an unheard of price!!! We'll have to drive to Dallas but it will be worth it.

Jaz went to enrichment camp for a week. She had a great time.

We found out that Jaz is now officially in the Gifted and Talented program. Woohoo!!!

We had a state qualifier BMX race at our local track. Jaz did great but it will be the only state qualifier she'll get to go to so I dunno if she'll be invited to race the ROC or not. Time will tell.

Jacey is excited to be starting pre K in the fall. We've got her backpack ready and the majority of school supplies bought.

Jacey is mastering her bike. She's getting to the point of almost being ready to take off her training wheels.

Phoenix had an accident. :( She ran into the tailgate of a truck and took a good gouge out of her forehead. She's gonna have a scar. :(

We're still working on potty training P. I'm not pushing it in any way, shape or form. She'll do it when she's good and ready.

The window of our van fell down. The arm that holds it up is broken and we're trying to find the parts to replace it. So now it's fixed the redneck way with duct tape. :)

I got a tshirt press to make shirts for our trip. Also I hope to sell photo t's on ebay. :) I'll have pics of the shirts up soon.

Robert got his diploma in the mail and it made it all seem so much more real for him that he's got his associates degree.

I've been out of commission for awhile. I've had some serious teeth issues and finally got them resolved yesterday. I found an amazing dentist who brought me into the office on a sunday to get me out of pain. So needless to say I'm looped up on pain killers. :)

My hours at work have been cut back to 9......yes 9 hours for the whole week. It's been that way for the last two weeks and I don't know when it will change. So I possibly see some change in my future. My goal is to be able to stay home and edit photos, sell photo t's and custom vinyl for cars and walls on ebay.

Rob has two wedding shoots in the next three weeks. He's nervous but I know he'll do great!!!

Well, that's pretty much got y'all up to speed on the Lindseth household. I hope to blog more regularly now. :)
