Laundromat

So I found myself at the laundromat this afternoon. My comforter is too big for the wash machine at the house so I took it to the laundromat after I picked up Jaz from school. It had been in the dryer for 30 minutes when in walks a gentleman with his things. He proceeded to empty out the contents of his bag into various machines. When he was done, he took the shirt off his back and decided to throw that in there too! So there he was, bare chested for all the world to see!! I don't know if he ended up putting his pants in one or not. I scooped up the kiddos and decided it was time to go with my slightly damp comforter!!

Bubble lights

Today's entry is about my absolute favorite lights.....bubble lights! I don't know what it is about them. The bubbling action, the pretty colors. It just makes me want to sit and stare at them for hours. So here is one for you to enjoy. I wish you could see the bubbling in action. Tonight we're going to the electric light parade downtown. They've got about 60 floats or so all decked out with christmas lights. Then the mayor will light the town christmas tree. It's nothing like Disneys electric light parade but it's fun nonetheless. :) Hopefully we'll have pics to post later. We've got our hot chocolate and blankets ready. :)

Melted

You know that you've got too many lights on the tree when you start to melt the extension cords. We put the tree up over the weekend and we put the lights on a dimmer switch. A few days later the dimmer switch went out. It melted. So I switched over to one of those big ol extension cords that is specifically made for a tree that has all the different plugs down the length of it. It had an on/off switch so that was kind of nice. Well today the lights went out completely. I looked at the cord and it too was melted. Ok. Not just a fluke anymore. Time to address the problem. I have a 7.5 foot non prelit tree. I say non prelit because at one time it used to be prelit but they all went out. So the last time I had the tree up I took all the burned out lights off. Anyone who has ever had a prelit tree go out I'm sure feels my pain. You can't just "unwrap" the burnt out lights....nope.....they're entwined in the tree. I ended up cutting all the lights off the tree. Yup, however many million lights there were, got cut off and we bought new lights that year. So this year we get to put all these new lights up. I can't have the lights simply drape the tree, no, they have to be wrapped around each and every branch so the entire tree is lit. (Thanks Jodi!) :) I love the way the tree looks when you do this. The down side is that it takes alot of lights. 500 to be exact. So I've got those mini lights on the tree, two strands of bubble lights (which I love, love, love!) and two strands of flame tip lights. Now I should have known that the flame tip lights were a little bit too much. They started to get warm right away. But we figured that's the way they were. So after melting episode #2 today I decided to take the flame tip lights off the tree. That was a chore!! But luckily I didn't disturb too many ornaments in the process. ;) So now I have a surge protecter with two seperate extension cords. One for the mini lights, and one for the bubble lights. We'll see how it goes!

Preview of things to come

You're in for a special treat. Since most of you won't be able to see our tree set up in our home, I've decided to share it with you here. Every day in the month of December I will be sharing a special ornament with you all. Here's the first installment. I picked this ornament up at Hobby Lobby just the other day. It's made of polymer clay. It's so hard to find an ornament with 5 on it.

Mickey Wreath

Check out the cool Mickey
wreath that daddy made for the front door.
Isn't it great???

Belated Turkey Photo

Here is a photo of the Jaz and Jacey next to Tom the turkey. The girls had a great time making Tom. Jacey is wearing her new little outfit that I made her. I have a feeling there will be more of these outfits to come!

The convience of walmart

The girls and I went to the mall with Melissa this morning. When we were coming out of the mall we passed a service truck that had a big piece of metal sticking out the back of it. It was just at Jaceys eye level. This is how the conversation went....

Me: Jacey be careful so you don't hit yourself.
Jacey: Why?
Me: Because it will poke your eye out!
Jacey: Oh.......I'll have to get a new one then.
Me: Yes dear
Jacey: Ok, lets go to the store and buy one.
Me: Honey, you can't buy an eye at the store.
Jacey:Why?
Me: Walmart doesn't carry them
Jacey: Oh...you sure?
Me: Yes honey.

She's 3........How does she come up with this stuff?????

It's official

Yup, it's official. Winter has arrived in the panhandle. I had to scrape my windows this morning before I took Jaz to school. And of course I couldn't find the ice scraper so I ended up using a walmart card. Jaz thought that was pretty funny. :)

Smokin'

Jaz helped me make fudge yesterday.
She only started one potholder on fire! LOL
I hope she doesn't follow in her momma's footsteps
and blow up pots on the stove while boiling water.
Love ya babe!! :D

Black Friday

You know that time of year when all the crazies come out and stand in a big ol long line at 3am waiting and hoping that they get that ONE special gift. Ya well, those crazies would be me and Jodi this year. :D It's been a tradition for us for at least the last 6 years or so. Yup, we were in line for Target at 4:30 am. We were about 50 people back in line. The store didn't open up until 6. It was 30 degrees outside, windy, with snow flurries. The line reached all the way out to the interstate they said. I could only see to the end of the building. I'd estimate that it was a good 500 people at least. The doors opened right on time at 6am ...... then the pushing began. I could have literally stood in one spot and I would have been pushed all the way into the store without moving a muscle. It was crazy! I was able (I mean Santa was able) to snag all the presents for girls. A wagon for Phoenix and video rocker chairs for both Jazmin and Jacey. A couple of dvd stocking stuffers and christmas is offically done! We checked out fairly quickly. There were STILL people coming in from that big ol long line outside. After target we hit Sears and Jodi picked up some tools and some clothes. Excellent prices on them all! Then it was onto Joanns. We had to make a quick pitstop at Starbucks to warm up first though. Joanns was having excellent deals. I got .99 cent a yard flannel to make the girls and daddy some pajama pants. Next on the list was Michaels. Didn't find a whole lot there. Just some wreaths to make a big ol Mickey head. I'll have pics of that real soon. :) And last but not least.....Hobby Lobby. Once again I was able to snag some ultra cheap fabric and an adorable ornament. Pics of that to come too. :) The van was quite a site. Filled from top to bottom!! I could barely see out the back! Those big ol boxes that Santa got sure took up a LOT of room. :) It was almost 1pm before I got home. A good 8 hours of shopping. Pure bliss! I'm off to bed now. I'm pooped!!!

Mia Update

Little Ms. Mia isn't improving at all. In fact she's getting worse. She has a blood infection now too. She has received some blood transfusions and is on oxygen as well as a ventilator. Her little heart is getting very weak. All so much for a little 4 month old to go through. Dear God, Please heal Ms. Mia as I know only you can.

Phoey

Phoey!! Well it looks like the job that daddy applied for isn't going to work out. :( He just got a letter saying that he didn't meet the minimum qualifications. :( Didn't even look at the fact that he's got 11 years of experience. It all depends on that almighty piece of paper. grumble, grumble......

Prayers

Prayers go out today to some dear friends of ours, Josh and Sandy. Their little girl Mia, who is 4 months old is in the hospital with RSV. While being diagnosed they also found out that she has a hole in her heart that will require surgery. The surgeons here in town won't be able to do it so they'll have to make the trip to the "big D" to get it done. If your the praying sort, please lift this family and precious baby Mia up. They can use any prayers you can provide.

a little bit dirty

Most children hate to get a bath. Not Ms. Jacey! She does everything in her power to get dirty to get IN the tub. This morning she was in the bathroom being unusually quiet. That right there should have been a tipoff to me that something was up. So I go in and peek around the corner and the child has toothpaste on her toes!!!! Momma, they were a little bit dirty. So in the tub she goes. She plays around like a fish for almost an hour and proclaims that she's clean and wants to get out. Hmmm, I wonder what her next venture will be to make her "a little bit dirty" as she would say whenever she wants to take a bath.

Meet George

This is George. :) It was a wonderful, wonderful day when George came into our life. He's a hot little number that does his job without complaint. He doesn't protest by turning off or spitting grounds into his filter. He doesn't pee all over the counter like his predecessor did. He's housebroken and I like that. I think George will stick around for quite awhile.

Touch of cold weather

We've had a touch of cold weather here lately. It's had me rummaging through the closets to make sure the girls all have warm coats. Everyone but Phoenix had one that fit. The one I had set aside for her was huge! It swallowed her up. So, off to my favorite place to find her a new one.....ebay. I found a cute litte jacket with a matching hat that would be her size come winter. Or so I thought. Take a look at the pics and see for yourself. This girl is just a little peanut!!! She does have arms in there......somewhere!
I think it's a little big mom.....mom, where are you? I can't see anything!!!!

Disney freaks

Yes, it's true. We're Disney freaks. :)
So we always try to add a little bit of Disney to our daily lives.
This is what the girls had for supper last night.
