Battle wounds

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. We've taken all the necessary precautions. Helmet, gloves, chest protector, long sleeve shirts, long pants. But it still happened. Jaz was going around a corner and was testing out her bike and the handlebars turn soooo much more quickly than her old bike and wham! Handlebar to the belly! She is now sporting a big ol bruise in all shades of purple and black on her belly. It's about 3 inches in diameter. Poor thing!!!! It really does look terrible. I'm waiting for the school to call me for an explanation. LOL At least she didn't break any bones. I'm hoping it heals up quick for her. She's got Nationals in a few weeks. Her very first national race. She's nervous. I'm confident that she'll do great. I'll make sure to keep you updated.

LOL..... Nationals just mean a race on a National level. Everyone in the US is invited to it. We're going to this one because it's close...in Guthrie. And for her to get a chance to see how BIG a National race is. There are lots of National races all over the US throughout the year, and then at the end of the year they have Grand Nationals. Sort of the Superbowl in the BMX world. lol That's over thanksgiving weekend in Tulsa of all places! Now you know more about racing than you ever wanted to know. :)
